Set-up your Christmas tree, hang your stockings in the fireplace, and start shopping for gifts because Christmas is just around the corner. It’s that time of the year again where we sing Christmas carols, watch Christmas movies, and hang out with friends and family.
But most of all, it’s the time where we wait for Santa to give our Christmas presents. That is if we aren’t on his naughty list.
Kidding aside, Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a picture of Santa Claus riding his sleigh with a bunch of gifts. Santa Claus or Father Christmas is a legendary character known for bringing gifts to the homes of well-behaved children on the night of Christmas Eve.
So, when everyone is asleep, you can sneak at night to catch Santa. However, if you’ve been naughty for the whole year, you’ll get a lump of coal.
Despite being a fictional character, it doesn’t stop “real life” Santas from bringing joy to kids.
You can see them in malls and stores across the country, bringing joy and hope to kids. They make each experience magical and memorable that it leaves kids with a giant smile on their lips.
One particular Santa showed his big heart in a much sweeter and different way.
A woman from Texas caught a very compassionate Santa while she was at work. She was so moved by his actions that she couldn’t help herself and took a photo of him. However, it wasn’t when Santa was talking to a kid and delivering Christmas presents.
Being in the hospital during Christmas is incredibly tough, especially for a child. Instead of spending Christmas near a blazing fire surrounded by loved ones and a big Christmas tree, the child has to spend it in a sterile hospital.
Parents and hospital workers do their best to lighten the mood. They invite a jolly Santa Claus to pay a visit to these kids and put a smile on their face. However, these visits can be emotional too for the big man filled with presents.
This is what happened in a hospital in Texas.
Mariana Whitley Tumlinson works at the Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. The hospital she was working in hired a Santa Claus for the young kids in the facility. Santa entertained the kids and worked really hard to put a smile on their face.
When he was about to leave, he asked Mariana where the chapel was located.
He told Mariana that he wanted to pray for the children. Moved by his request, Mariana pointed him towards the direction of the chapel and left him be. When she walked inside again, she was touched by what she witnessed.
Kneeling in front of the image of Jesus was Santa Claus silently praying.
